Hiroto Uechi graduated from the Faculty of Science at Kyoto University. After working as a freelance engineer based primarily in Osaka, he joined Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd. as a Problem-Solving Engineer — becoming the first engineer in the company's history to be hired directly into its Osaka office.
While serving as the primary owner of Exchange Server, he took responsibility for every integration and module across all products connected to Exchange Server, making him the only "full-scope Exchange engineer" in the world. He was also selected as a backup responder for Severity-A CritSit (critical situation) cases — a role normally reserved for senior engineers capable of handling such cases independently — and went on to establish a stand-alone CritSit response base at the Osaka satellite office, another first for the Exchange Server division at Microsoft Japan.
After leaving Microsoft Japan, he joined Yanmar Information System Service Co., Ltd. Following a role as an M365 administrator, he became the first data scientist within the Yanmar Group, working in the company's DX Promotion Office. He later moved into a role as an IT Architect / Strategist, contributing to the overall grand design of the Yanmar Group's data infrastructure. He also serves as a hub for data analytics engineers across the group, building a community that connects them with engineers overseas.
He has spoken at "Hiranomachi Analytics," a cross-industry gathering for data analytics professionals in the Kansai region, presenting on data platforms. With an IQ of 150, he is also a member of Japan MENSA.
